Forget the animals. The boys had more fun with sticks and a murky pond. I don't even think there were fish in there.

2 boys and a hippo. Isn't it nice that I got to be in one of the zoo pics this time?

Who needs a double stroller? Hannah and Ryan figured out how to make 1 work. Unfortunately, by the end of the day, I had all four kids in the stroller. Hannah moved to Ryan's lap, Parker was sitting on top, and Andrew under the basket. I was too busy receiving stares from all of the passerby's to get a photo at that point.

So, last night we were watching TV with Parker and he saw a Disneyland commercial and said, I want to go there and see Mickey. Mike said, maybe... since we are going to CA in two weeks. (Well, that was before we found out tickets are $85.00 for adults and $75.00 for kids! Um, no thanks... not yet.) Anyway, the next commercial was for chuck-e-cheese... Parker said, I want to go there. I said, instead of Disneyland? OK... (So, that was easy.) Until the next commercial came on... for Sun Valley Auto (car dealership). He said, "No, that's where I want to go." SOLD! Forget Disneyland or any of those other places that will cost a fortune... just as long as we don't have to come home with a new car, this could be an easy one...

Easter

OK, you have all seen this, but I thought I would post it here just to archive it. I forget about using the blog when I send out emails.

Since Scott & Sheesh haven't mastered the family website yet, I figured I would post the pics of Garrett that I've been sent. The family has already seen them, but I figured it was a good way to archive!

One of my friends sent me her look-alikes and I thought it was really fun. I thought I'd share my results. If you want to see what you come up with, go to My Heritage.com

It's been a pretty long, busy week for me. It all started last weekend. My friends, Laura and Dan, were married on Friday. I woke up that morning with the worst allergies. My eyes were constantly watering and I couldn't breathe! Unfortunately, I couldn't let it stop me. I had to help organize things at the reception center and put together all of the centerpieces. Luckily, I started feeling better once I got busy and everything went great! The location was amazing - it is called "Top of the Town" and had a view of downtown DC.

Saturday night was the Circus. A bunch of my friends and I headed downtown to Barnum & Bailey's Circus. It was great! It's always nice to act like a kid again. It was interesting, though, to be at an event that is geared towards kids when I was the youngest one in our group. I loved the acrobats though! I think that is amazing no matter how old you are!
I finally thought I was beginning to feel better by Tuesday which was a relief because I had my certification test (for the CFM - Certified Facility Manager) that day. It all started out great but about an hour into the test (it took me about 5.5 hours), I started coughing like crazy. I couldn't bring any water into the center so I had to sign out/in every 15 minutes to get a drink and blow my nose! It was great. Unfortunately, I have no idea how I did and won't know for over a month.
By Thursday, I finally felt better physically, but the stress just got worse. Our fridge has been broken for over a week and I found out that we still wouldn't have one for another week, and I found out that both of my roommates are moving out this summer and the roommate search started again....
But, then it all got better! Thursday night I had a reception for an conference I was attending on Friday. We also did a night tour of the District. I haven't done that for awhile and it was nice to be with a bunch of associates and just relax (plus they were all getting drunk, so it was entertaining). Friday was a leadership training for my professional association (IFMA). It was a great day, and I got some great ideas for leadership both professionally and personally. Then the rest of the weekend was Conference!
We had a brunch at our house this morning and even with the lack of a fridge (and a way to keep food cold), we totally pulled it off! We fed close to 20 people (we had breakfast casserole, pull aparts, and food that others brought). Good food, good friends, and great conference! Definitely a turn around for the week. And now, I am leaving tomorrow morning for Denver (and I got upgraded to First Class!).
My favorite talks were probably Saturday morning's. Although this post was a lot of complaining, I loved the talks that focused on not complaining, backbiting, gossiping, etc. I am going to focus on making sure I use words to uplift and lighten others loads. What were your favorite conference talks?
***I know I have yet to update everyone on my trip to NYC two weeks ago, but that will come in a future post I promise!
