Potty Training Triumphs

I'm not sure if we are excited or worried... but potty training is going well. Parker finally decided that he wanted to be a big boy, and now he has gone almost two weeks of pooping in the toilet. However, big boys don't have to take naps... so at the same time, he has given up on naps. I'm not sure if I was really ready for this milestone! Changing diapers may not be that bad of a thing.... The new adventure is he is getting better at night as well. The last two nights he has woken up dry, but that is after he comes in 1-2 times during the night to wake us up to go with him to the potty. Between Parker and Ryan, staying up late to get work done, and this new baby not letting me fall asleep easily, it's a wonder if my eyes even close at night. How many more years until I can sleep again? Oh the joys.

Do you really want the answer to that question. That is really better left unanswered. About the time your kids quit waking you up in the middle of the night is about the time they don't get home until the middle of the night and you don't get to sleep until they get home. And then you spend the other half of the night worrying about what they were really doing out so late! I think that is why when you become a grandmother you don't seem to have quite as much energy as you used to. It is the cumulative effect of the sleepless night!

That's exciting Marnee! Just think . . . maybe you can train Parker to get up with the new baby when he/she cries. ;-)
